Our summer concert features two dramatic pieces demonstrating the triumph of the human spirit in adversity.
Cherubini’s beautiful but rarely performed Requiem in C Minor was praised by Beethoven, Schumann, Berlioz and Brahms and played at Beethoven’s funeral.
We’re pairing this with “Feel the Spirit” a cycle of spirituals arranged by Sir John Rutter and featuring solo mezzo-soprano Cheryl Forbes.
